Accelerating the transition to sustainable farming

Agriculture is at the heart of our food system; as our population grows, so too does our dependence on it to feed and nourish us. However, agriculture, forestry and other types of land use are currently responsible for almost a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions. This is primarily from deforestation and emissions from livestock, soil and nutrient management and, therefore, the transition to sustainable agriculture is crucial. To achieve this, EIT Food works with startups and partners working to make farming more sustainable and equitable.

The Empowering Women in Agrifood programme is looking for female entrepreneurs who have a business idea or are already running a business in the agrifood sector.

Call for agrifood SMEs/Startups interested in receiving small grants to improve their business

Deadline: April 30, 2025

Through our AMPLE programme, we are distributing 30 Boost Vouchers (small grants of €2.300) to help small agrifood businesses to encourage innovation, improve their production processes and create healthier and more sustainable products.

Request for Regenerative Agriculture training programmes for agronomists

Deadline: May 15, 2024

The purpose of this Call is to select an academic organisation, or a consortium led by an HEI, to provide a high-quality hands-on training programme to train agronomists in regenerative agriculture state-of-the-art issues and knowledge.
