Building on success: the journey so far

In 2022, EIT Food embarked on a mission to empower the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to make informed and responsible food choices. The FoodEducators (formerly named Youth Mission) programme was born, reaching 382 teachers and an impressive 39,354 students across five pilot countries – Cyprus, Czechia, Israel, Hungary, and Spain. Now, in 2023, we are taking this mission even further.

Introducing the FoodEducators Website

With the launch of the FoodEducators website, we are thrilled to provide educators and students with a dynamic platform that inspires and supports food education. This digital hub is designed to foster learning, curiosity, and exploration, offering an array of ready-to-use lesson plans and further resources that cater to the diverse needs of students aged 9 to 18.

Key Features of the Website

  • Multilingual Accessibility: The FoodEducators website breaks down language barriers, ensuring that lesson plans and materials are available in multiple languages, enriching the educational experience for all.

  • Innovative Lesson Plans: The heart of the website lies in its meticulously crafted lesson plans, covering topics such as healthy eating, food science, sustainability and agrifood careers. The activities in these lesson plans are designed to inspire leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and conscious consumerism.

  • Proven Impact: Building on the success of our pilot phase, the website incorporates lessons and insights from the previous year, ensuring that the educational journey remains relevant, engaging, and effective.

  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Our partnerships with esteemed organisations amplify the impact of our efforts, making the FoodEducators website a collaborative and rich resource for educators and students.

An empowered future generation

The launch of the FoodEducators website is a significant step forward in our mission to equip young people with the tools they need to shape a more sustainable and healthier world. By providing educators with the resources to inspire critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and a profound connection with food, we are fostering a generation of conscious consumers and future leaders in the agrifood sector.
