Why Choose an EIT-Labelled PhD?
The EIT Label is more than a mark of academic excellence - it’s a powerful signal of innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world impact.
Awarded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the Label recognises PhD programmes that equip talented researchers with the tools to become the next generation of food system changemakers. For PhD candidates, this means:
🔹 A cross-disciplinary, challenge-led education
You won’t just specialise - you’ll collaborate across science, industry, and policy to solve real problems in the food system.
🔹 Entrepreneurial skills embedded throughout the programme
Through tailored training, mentorship, and innovation labs, you’ll gain the mindset and capabilities to turn research into scalable, market-ready solutions.
🔹 A Europe-wide innovation network
Join a thriving community of startups, corporates, universities, and policymakers working together to drive positive change in food and agriculture.
🔹 Enhanced employability and credibility
As a Diploma supplement, the EIT Label is widely recognised by employers and investors who have both scientific depth and the entrepreneurial spark to lead transformation.
Whether your path leads to research, industry, or founding your own venture, an EIT-Labelled PhD gives you the skills, confidence and recognition to shape the future of food - and your career.
