The departmental research institutions of StMELF (Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture; Bavarian State Institute for Forest and Forestry; Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture; Technology and Support Centre; Competence Center for Nutrition) are engaged in applied research, education, and extension to address the great challenges in food and bio-economic value chains.
