Saturday 25th Sept | 10am - 5pm BST and On-demand

Global warming is the greatest existential challenge of our age, requiring massive societal changes to mitigate and adapt to it. Time is fast running out to do that. Hear what we must do to create a sustainable future and about the science and technology enabling it to happen. New Scientist’s Creating a Sustainable Future event is for everyone who cares about the planet and humanity’s future. Join us online for a day of inspiring talks and discussion with scientists and thinkers at the forefront of research.

Three stages of incredible talks, discussion and debate

Find out how to tackle sources of emissions from transport, buildings, energy production and farming on the Path to Net Zero stage. Discover inspiring ways to restore the environment and how you can lead your greenest life on the People and Planet stage. Many sessions will feature audience questions, giving you the opportunity to take part and shape the conversation.

  • What will a sustainable future look like?
  • Habitat restoration
  • How to reach net zero
  • The hydrogen economy
  • Carbon capture
