What can EIT Food offer for farmers?
EIT Food provides farmers with practical tools, learning programmes and collaborative opportunities that help them transition to more resilient, regenerative and competitive production systems. Our support ranges from capacity-building and innovation testing to access to networks across the agrifood value chain.
We offer these opportunities because farmers play a central role in Europe’s food transformation. Their adoption of climate-smart, regenerative and data-driven practices is essential to achieving environmental targets, strengthening rural competitiveness and ensuring long-term food security.
How can farmers get involved?
Farmers can join EIT Food initiatives such as the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio which include landscapes in several regions across Europe (like Navarra 360º and Lower Silesia 360º) and also regional hubs that provide local support. Whether they want to learn new skills (thorugh the Academy), participate in innovation trials or connect with peers, there are multiple entry points designed to meet different needs.
To get involved, farmers can explore available opportunities on our platform, connect with local partners or sign up for personalised guidance. Our team helps farmers navigate the options and find the most relevant initiatives. Through EIT Food’s Think & Do Tank approach and the Test Farms network, farmers can actively test innovations on real farms, share practical feedback, and shape solutions that work in their own fields.
Stories of pioneering farmers
Across Europe, pioneering farmers are demonstrating that regenerative and climate-resilient practices are both profitable and sustainable.
