The EIT Food Resilient Agriculture Think & Do Tank brings together strategic partners from across Europe to foster effective collaboration, overcome barriers to innovation in the field of resilient agriculture and share knowledge and impactful initiatives that accelerate food system transformation.

2026

Resilient agriculture is essential for ensuring long-term food security, yet current farming systems are increasingly vulnerable to climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. Furthermore, with the global population projected to grow from 8 billion today to nearly 10 billion by 2050, agriculture must adapt to produce sufficient, nutritious food while withstanding shocks such as extreme weather, pests, and market disruptions. By strengthening ecosystem health, diversifying crops, and integrating climate-smart practices, resilient agriculture can address many of the food system’s pressing challenges, and policymakers around the world are beginning to recognize its critical role in building a sustainable future.

Resilient Agriculture Think & Do Tank

The EIT Food Resilient Agriculture Think & Do Tank is a new initiative that harnesses EIT Food’s unique strengths in convening stakeholders and driving systemic change across the agrifood sector. It brings together strategic partners from across Europe to foster effective collaboration, knowledge sharing, and impactful initiatives that accelerate food system transformation to promote resilient agriculture.

"Resilient agriculture is at the heart of what we do at EIT Food because it's the foundation of a sustainable and secure food system for all of us."

- Elvira Domingo, Director of Resilient Agriculture Thematic Leadership

Food Fight Podcast - Resilient Agriculture Think & Do Tank

The reality of farming has changed. One fruit grower loses three harvests in three years. A cereal farmer now expects a climate disaster every season. Recorded live at Next Bite in Brussels, Matt is joined by Stéphane Durand, Vice-President of Financing A Fair Transition and Damien Jourdain, President, of the EIT Food Resilient Agriculture Think and Do Tank. They're working to change how European farming works, so farmers can plan a future with stable incomes, healthy land and food you can trust.
