Profile

ProVeg International’s work to promote a sustainable and healthy food system by advancing plant-rich foods and alternative proteins is ambitious and aligned with the core aims of EIT Food. Like EIT Food, they work with stakeholders across the food system – connecting innovators and investors, supporting businesses and institutions to transform food environments, and engaging with civil society and government agencies to create an enabling policy environment.

Competences & Capabilities

We believe that the first step to reducing global animal consumption is creating attractive, plant-based and cultured alternatives to conventionally produced meat, eggs, and dairy products. With our pioneering ProVeg Incubator, backed by renowned mentors and expert partners from the food industry, we are supporting the startups developing these products and taking them to market. ProVeg more widely acts as an institution of innovation and excellence by cooperating with a range of caterers, schools, and other institutions and by organising large scale food awareness events including New Food Conference and VegMed. We support manufacturers in introducing new plant-based products or in replacing animal ingredients by advising them on suitable plant-based alternatives and we also run political campaigns, focus on media outreach, and network via our own events and external industry fairs.
