More than 550 participants have contributed to the successful completion of the mainstream workshops run by EIT Food, in the frame of the multidimensional educational program RIS PD (Regional Innovation Scheme Professional Development).
In association with EIT Food partner companies and Rising Food Stars, under the scientific supervision of fellow universities, 15 effective workshops were held from mid September to December of 2022, in certain countries making part of RIS PD, such as Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom.
All participants coming from the Agro-Food world, the game changers of food sector in their regions, men and equally treated women, had the opportunity to team up with professionals coming from the 28 RIS countries, acquire Knowledge and exchange ideas in a digitalized environment, in the following educational pillars:

AQUAENT: Transform fish business following the circular economy

Young food producers, mid career professionals and entrepreneurs working in the field of aquaculture, broadened their knowledge regarding the circular economy and got educated on the zero-waste approach and the sustainable use of natural resources.

FEEL LOCAL: Boosting primary production by improving farmers meta-skills

Farmers, retailers and consumers had the chance, through in-site or online meetings, to discuss the interesting results of quantitative surveys, to develop tools and professional skills to promote farming best practices, such as the creation of a "multi-stakeholders" digital platform, reinforcing the communication and local products promotion.

NPD: leveraging skills of researchers and employees in the food industry and learn through experience

Pioneers and aspiring entrepreneurs, future food innovators built skills and expertise regarding the NPD process, through interactive lectures, project assignments and computer-based simulations.

SMASCH: Smart Short Supply Chains, creating new leaders of the digital transformation in the European agri-food sector

Supply chain practitioners and all professionals involved in the agri-food digital transformation at every level of the value chain were given the opportunity to explore and develop their digital skills, as well as to build a targeted digital plan, with the contribution of mentors and industry professionals.

WE LEAD: Fuel women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership in food system

Women, coming from public or private sector, from business or academic world, were provided with insights and tools to navigate exciting and future food organizations, as well as drive change within them.
