We are proud to announce the winners of the Marketed Innovation Prize 2024! This award recognises groundbreaking solutions that contribute to a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient food system. Each winner has demonstrated exceptional innovation and impact, setting new benchmarks for the agrifood industry.
About the Marketed Innovation Prize
As a KIC, we, our partners and start-ups have continuously invested in innovation since our inception, bringing numerous products and services to market. We want to reward the success of our community and recognise the impact that the products and services derived from EIT Food projects and programmes have had, through a prize challenge.
The prize was open to all organisations who have developed a product or service that has reached the market, following their receipt of support from EIT Food.
The best marketed innovation per region (North-East, West & South) were awarded a prize of €10,000 and the best marketed innovation of each of the five subcategories were awarded a prize of €5,000 each.

North-East Region: ULLMANNA
Ullmanna has been revolutionizing organic agriculture since 2019 with its AI-powered, non-chemical weeding solutions. By 2021, they introduced the first fully functional non-chemical weeding machine, which later evolved into the innovative NEWMAN machine. With EIT Food's support, Ullmanna accelerated productization, achieving a 500% growth in customer revenue in 2023. Today, their machines are sold across multiple European countries and showcased at top industry fairs.
West Region & Best Regenerative Agriculture Solution: SAM-DIMENSION GmbH
SAM-DIMENSION is transforming agriculture with its cutting-edge AI-powered drone technology that maps weeds at the individual plant level. Their latest innovation enables farmers to reduce pesticide use by up to 90%, optimizing inputs while protecting biodiversity.
EIT Food played a key role in accelerating their market entry and helping secure partnerships with major industry leaders such as John Deere and Syngenta.
South Region: farmAIr
farmAIr’s groundbreaking AI-driven plant stress detection platform is redefining crop protection. By combining thermal imaging, optical data fusion, and AI, their innovation can detect stress years before symptoms appear, allowing farmers to act proactively. Initially applied in vineyards, their technology is now expanding into crops such as apples and sugar beets.
Best Alternative Protein-based Solution & Woman in Innovation Award: BettaF!sh
BettaF!sh made waves in the plant-based seafood industry with its shelf-stable TU-NAH can, a sustainable and delicious tuna alternative.
With the support of EIT Food’s RisingFoodStars program, BettaF!sh has rapidly scaled production, securing over 2,000 retail listings across Europe and doubling its manufacturing output within a year.
Best Food Waste Reduction Solution: Kern Tec GmbH
Kern Tec is pioneering the upcycling of fruit pits—once considered waste—into high-value food ingredients. With proprietary processing technologies, Kern Tec has unlocked new applications for apricot, cherry, and plum pits, introducing them as sustainable alternatives in the food industry.
