This July, 120 female entrepreneurs from across Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye and Ukraine embarked on their entrepreneurial journey with the EIT Food Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) Programme. These participants will gain access to top industry connections, specially designed online training programmes, one-on-one mentoring, and a dedicated online platform to maximise their entrepreneurial potential.

Supporting female talent in 12 countries

With the collaboration of trusted partners, EIT Food offers women the chance to join a top-notch entrepreneurship programme in their native languages. Our goal is to provide startup support to everyone with an idea and a desire to grow their business in the agrifood sector. Running a dedicated programme for female entrepreneurs in local languages enhances accessibility and helps women integrate into the EIT Food community.

Innovative ideas for a sustainable food system

The programme's projects span the entire food value chain, from precision farming to delivering healthy and sustainable products to consumers.

Examples of innovative ideas include a greenhouse cover that captures and recycles carbon dioxide, plant-based leather made from pomegranate peel waste, and sustainable packaging materials derived from plant stems. EWA’s empowerment approach will help participants accelerate their growth and impact.
