InnoWise Scale
Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship
The programme supported more than 80 scale ups scaleups and SMEs working on innovative products or services enabling a better water management, optimising water supply and demand, and fostering climate change readiness of the European economy.
Top water entrepreneurs were supported for over 3 months through tailored mentoring and training sessions. Moreover, selected participants had the opportunity to meet potential end users with whom network and explore collaboration options for a given case study. The purpose is to accelerate the market uptake of these green solutions in Europe.
At the end of the period, sectoral competitions around a specific case study are held. Participants could be granted with equity-free cash prizes of up to 12,000 euros and special prizes of 30,000 euros for demo purposes with the end user.
Case Studies
The Municipality of Nisyros is responsible for water supply, wastewater treatment and sewerage services in the Greek island of Nisyros. Some of their main challenges are water sustainability, wastewater management, and nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment. Competition: Watch here!

Spanish company of the Ferrovial group specialising in the development of water treatment and desalination. Their challenge for InnoWise competition is to allow the management of several plants remotely by the same manager without the need to travel to each plant daily by means of digital tools. The Greek Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Pylaia – Hortiati (DEYAPH) is responsible for water supply, wastewater treatment and sewerage services in the greatest Thessaloniki area. The main challenges they face are water sustainability; preservation of water resources; water loss minimization and water safety in the supply chain production, transfer, and distribution.
