The 2026 Test Farms cohort brings together a diverse group of innovative agritech startups from across Europe, delivering cutting-edge solutions to key agricultural challenges through AI-driven platforms, satellite-based insights, precision robotics, biodegradable soil amendments, and circular bio-based inputs. Their technologies aim to enhance productivity, optimise resource use, and improve resilience to climate change, while supporting soil health, sustainable farm management, urban aquaculture, and decentralised protein production. Together, these startups represent a new generation of entrepreneurs combining advanced technology with practical application, showcasing the creativity and ambition driving more efficient, resilient, and sustainable farming systems in Europe.

Agribot (United Kingdom)

Agribot’s Pasture AI provides clear, reliable forecasts of pasture growth to support grazing decisions, using AI, climate models, and radar satellites designed to work even in cloudy weather. It predicts biomass, growth, and climate impacts for every field, helping farmers optimise grazing rotations, reduce inputs, and improve soil and carbon outcomes. It also supports reporting and supply chain assurance for farmers, insurers, and supply chain organisations.Ā 

Alganize (Germany)

Alganize’s solution is a microalgae-based biostimulant that enhances plant resilience and soil health. By stressing microalgae in bioreactors, it produces root exudate-like signalling molecules that mimic the plant’s natural ā€œcry for helpā€, activating defence pathways and strengthening tolerance to climate-driven stress at a cellular level. It also stimulates the soil microbiome, promoting beneficial microorganisms and improving long-term soil productivity.Ā 

Ant Systems (Netherlands)

Ant Systems’ Nanotern is a biodegradable superabsorbent soil amendment applied in the root zone to improve soil water retention under drought conditions. It captures water during irrigation or rainfall and gradually releases it as the soil dries, helping to stabilise moisture availability. The solution is compatible with existing orchard and vineyard infrastructure and practices, including drip irrigation, and supports improved water-use efficiency and crop drought resilience.Ā 

Aquacubes (Germany)

Aquacubes are internationally patented, one-of-a-kind modular systems that make urban fish farming easy. Using AI to monitor water quality and fish health, they ensure high animal welfare, ease of operation, and low labour requirements, while saving water, reducing transport, and producing fresh protein locally. Aquacubes aims to be a complete, ready-to-deploy solution for the future of urban and decentralised circular aquaculture.Ā 

Grouse Fibres (United Kingdom)

Grouse Fibre takes waste milk and uses it to create GrowTein, a protein-rich fibre with unique properties. GrowTein can be blended into peat-free growing media to improve nutrient content and moisture retention. This enhances germination and yield in peat-free systems. Global peatlands store twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests combined. By keeping peat in the ground, Grouse Fibre aims to save megatonnes of carbon each year.Ā 

KIREAP (Germany)

KIREAP provides an AI-powered platform that integrates satellite, drone, weather, and in-field data into a real-time dashboard for monitoring plant health, pests and diseases, soil moisture, and nutrient imbalances, enabling timely interventions and coordinated field operations. Thanks to a closed-loop detect-to-act system, farmers can directly task service teams, drones, or autonomous systems, with built-in pricing, workflows, and a verification layer.Ā 

OMEGA Space Technology (Germany)

OMEGA provides an AI-powered satellite platform that delivers daily irrigation insights through mobile dashboards and APIs. By combining radar, multispectral, and hyperspectral satellite data, it generates field-level irrigation recommendations and variable rate application maps, while enabling remote irrigation control and near real-time monitoring of crop health, growth, and anomalies. This helps reduce irrigation and annual costs while improving crop performance.Ā 

Rain2soil (Germany)

Rain2soil’s Rainbutler is an autonomous precision irrigation robot designed to reduce water, energy and labour use in agriculture while increasing crop yield and quality. Using RTK-GPS navigation and proprietary field planning software, Rainbutler operates fully autonomously on existing tramlines and applies water evenly in two controlled passes, ensuring optimal infiltration, zero run-off and reliable performance under real field conditions.Ā 

Veles Sense (Serbia)

Veles Sense offers an AI-powered vineyard monitoring solution leveraging drone-based multispectral imaging and advanced models to detect early grapevine stress before visible symptoms appear. It helps growers identify water stress, nutrient deficiencies, and disease risks, enabling timely interventions. The solution reduces costs and chemical use while improving sustainability in vineyard management.Ā 

Villa Insect (Spain)

Villa Insect offers a centralised Hatching as a Service (HaaS) model for Tenebrio molitor to enable decentralised insect farming. The solution consists of a centralised hatching facility operated by Villa Insect, the controlled production and incubation of Tenebrio molitor eggs, the delivery of ready-to-hatch eggs to partner farms, and standardised protocols for on-farm handling and start-up procedures.Ā
