Food Mission

Food Mission educational package targets school children from age 9-14. It has the aim of creating awareness about food-related issues in an interdisciplinary manner. It connects food with sustainability, health and science communication.

Modules:

1. Food & Sustainability

This module focuses on the “big picture”: (sustainable) food production, circular agrifood systems and (food) systems thinking.

2. Food & Health

This module’s lesson plans to teach students about how food interacts with the human body, focusing on healthy diets and investigating how these diets can become more sustainable, being sustainable for both - human as well as planetary health.

3. Food & Science & Communication

Food Mission’s aim is to create a multiplying effect for which effective food science communication is inevitable. Besides lesson plans on food processing and food experiments, students learn in this module how to share scientific knowledge with parents to peers.
