GoTo Business workshops for emerging entrepreneurs

On December 3 and 4, the online workshop GoToBusiness took place. EIT Food collaborated with Yulia Bodnar and Sviatoslav Sviatnenko-CEO @cyber/nnov8 to support beginner entrepreneurs from Ukraine. The interactive workshops inspired participants to learn entrepreneurship skills from successful experts.

More than 50 participants took part in the workshop. Those ambitious and motivated Ukrainians with different background, region, age and education had one common goal – to cover all essential steps of early-stage startup development, switch to tech sector or a start-up as an employee.

The workshop was based expert seminars on the following topics: business modelling, product management, lean canvas, fundraising, pitching and so on. Experienced and successful entrepreneurs shared their knowledge and experience .

On the first day of workshop Oksana Krykun talked about development of the key components of your startup – business models, value proposition, customer segments - using Lean Canvas. Next Yuri Zaremba explained how to check your business idea and find clients. Michael Utkin inspired by story of successful entrepreneur.

On the second day, the workshop wasn’t no less productive. Sviatoslav Sviatnenko explained how to finance your startup, told about types and stages of financing startups, when and how to ask for money from investors. The meeting with Anton Shulyk and Valerii Iakovenko was extremely engaging. Next, Yulia Bodnar presented about types of presentations, tips and recommendations, how to present your startup idea and how to prepare for pitching. Furthermore, Yulia spoke about agrifood entrepreneurship and startup opportunities EIT Food, examples of innovative startups in the agri-food sector and EIT Food programs and opportunities. The participants showed great interest in EIT Food opportunities and planning to participate in the following projects.

Despite of problem with electricity, lack of internet connection Ukrainians have expressed tremendous interest in GoToBusiness workshop, the desire to acquire knowledge and experience in the field of business and startups. They proved once again that there are no excuses for not starting a business.

According to data about 6 millions Ukrainians due to war lost their jobs. A huge number of people looking for new opportunities. We strongly believe that this project and others, that are coming soon, will help them to find a path in business and realize their potential.
