1) What is your idea?

“Happy Ocean Foods develops truly fish-like, plant-based seafood alternatives by combining fermentation-derived, allergen-free proteins with High Moisture Extrusion (HME) to create additive-free fish alternatives that are high in protein and a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA+EPA).

In our recent product development, we were able to scale up our Tyuna 2.0 alternative as a natural version and with three different marinades in preparation for our first commercial production for the product which took place in the month of May 2025. The new version of our Tyuna is ultra realistic in terms of look, texture and taste, delivers a comparable nutritional profile in comparison to animal tuna, has price parity and is free of additives.”

2. Where can we find your products?

“Chefs and food-service operators can request our ready-to-eat tuna alternatives and ready-to-heat "fysch" healthy convenience meals directly through our B2B channel (contact via sales@happyoceanfoods.com). “

3. How has EIT Food supported you on your journey?

“We were awarded the EIT Food Impact Funding Framework Grant in partnership with Aarhus University’s Dept. of Food Science, enabling sensory evaluation and nutritional validation studies as well as accelerating our product development and go-to-market.”
