Regenerative Agriculture Deep Dive

This technical report was led by EIT Food, in collaboration with strategic partners and with the input of diverse stakeholders across the agri-food system committed to the transition towards regenerative agriculture (RA).

Focusing both on ecosystem restoration and the economic performance of farming systems, the report explores RA as a strategic response to the environmental degradation, climate risks, and socio-economic challenges currently facing agriculture. It provides a comprehensive overview of high-impact practices, enabling regulatory frameworks and financing mechanisms, while identifying the key barriers limiting large-scale adoption.

Based on contributions from farmers, cooperatives, industry players, public institutions, and financial actors, the report integrates technical evidence with practical insights and policy recommendations. It aims to inform strategic decision-making and foster coordinated action that accelerates regenerative transitions and delivers measurable benefits for climate resilience, biodiversity, and rural vitality.
