UN Science Days

On 5 July 2021 EIT Food convened a side-event session as part of the UN Science Days alongside World Food Programme (WFP) and World Economic Forum (WEF).

The session identified solutions and initiatives that embody systems innovation that have the potential to transform food systems but also highlight the co-benefits that systems innovation could unlock for people, planet and prosperity across the globe for the achievement of the SDGs.

Role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Creating the Future Food System

Encourage SMEs in your network to join the UN Dialogue on the Role of SMEs in Creating the Future Food System.

SME Report

EIT Food is committed to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which constitute at least half of the food system. EIT Food hosted the above Dialogue to dive deep into the potential for SMEs to drive food system transformation.

50 SMEs around the world have been announced as the Best Small Businesses of the “Good Food for All” competition, held in conjunction with the UN Food Systems Summit. The top 50 have been chosen from nearly 2,000 applications from 135 countries, as their work best exemplifies the Summit’s aim of delivering all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing healthy, sustainable food and livelihoods for all.

The winning startups from the EIT Food community are current RisingFoodStar InnovoPro and RisingFoodStar Alum Whole Surplus (2019-2020 cohort).
