The reality of retailing and food production is changing rapidly around the world. From how food is designed, how and where it is produced, to how and by whom it is consumed. There are many indications that the food industry will change in the next 10 years more than in the last half-century.

In addition to dynamically emerging and evolving trends, new technologies and food production processes, changing tastes and capabilities of consumers around the world, it is becoming increasingly important to have a thorough understanding of their needs and addressing them appropriately.

To achieve commercial success, it is crucial to identify consumer challenges and create solutions to increase comfort and satisfaction with products.

This approach is guided by Design Thinking method, which was used as a tool in creating solutions for the future of the Food industry during the EIT Food Challenge Labs workshop. The event took place in the form of a hackathon, and during it in just a few dozen hours first hypotheses and prototypes of products and services were created.
