This year’s South Summit broke attendance records in Madrid, La Nave. During the 7th, 8th and 9th of June, the event that shapes the future and connects startups, corporations and investors, gathered more than 17,000 attendees and 6,500 startups.
The event held many startups competitions where entrepreneurs had the floor to showcase their businesses. Among the winners of the 11th edition of South Summit, Nucaps, a participant in the EIT Food Accelerator Network (FAN) programme, was named ‘Best Startup’ at the Scale the Impact Demo Day by Danone and Social Nest Foundation.
Needless to say, EIT Food did not miss the opportunity to attend the South Summit 2023. The EIT Food Entrepreneurship Team was present at the expository ground with a stand, where they got to connect with new startups.
Furthermore, on the 8th of June, Amparo de San Jose, Entrepreneurship Programme Manager at EIT Food, participated in a round table along with other key players like Mariya Konstantinova, CFO at Agrana; Igor de la Sota, General Partner at Cardugen; and Mark Durno, Managing Partner at Rockstar. The round table tackled the topic of ‘Sustainable Investing: ESG in Agrifood’.
On June 9, South Summit 2023 ended its last edition longing for a better future and bearing in mind that there is still work to do. Therefore, they are already getting down to business for the next edition, South Summit 2024. Stay tuned for more information!
