The second event in the six-month EWA programme, known as the Masterclass, took place in an exceptional venue - the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This location is both prestigious and a dream for many startups. The event was opened by Piotr Gębala, CEO of GPW Venture, who discussed the opportunities for raising capital on the stock market, emphasizing the importance of timing for startup development. He also highlighted the significance of building relationships and networks.

Following this, participants engaged in workshop sessions. The first one was led by Anna Magiera, a mentor in leading international programs such as Techstars Berlin and ReaktorX, and a board member of Startup Hub Poland. During her presentation, she discussed overcoming challenges related to fundraising and preparing effectively to secure additional funding.

After a short break, participants practiced public speaking skills under the guidance of Adam Rogal, a trainer and journalist from news outlets like TVN24 and Discovery Historia. During the workshop, he introduced participants to the fundamental principles of effective speeches, allowing them to practice speaking in front of the camera and refining their vocal tones.

The event concluded with a special guest appearance by Dr. Jeannice Farrier Samani, a globally recognized educator, outstanding speaker in the fields of leadership and technology, and a certified mentor as part of the TechWomen initiative. In her passionate speech, she shared her journey to success, emphasizing the importance of believing in one's work.

Ahead of the participants lies the final stretch of the EWA programme, marked by intense preparations for the Pitching event. During this event, Mentees will present their business ideas after six months of intensive development work, and a jury will evaluate them. Excitement mounts as two top-rated ideas will receive additional grants of €10,000 and €5,000, respectively. The Pitching event is scheduled for November 8th at the Cambridge Innovation Centre Warsaw, and admission will be open to anyone interested. Organizational details are currently in the preparation phase.

The EWA programme was created to support women in developing their business initiatives in the food and agriculture sector. It provides comprehensive support to early-career female entrepreneurs, enabling them to harness their potential and providing them with the necessary knowledge and access to networks to effectively launch and grow sustainable business ventures in the agri-food industry.

The European finale of the EWA program, "Women in Agrifood Summit 2023," will take place on December 1st in Vilnius, Lithuania. The event will be open to a wide audience and will be broadcasted online. You can follow event updates on the Women In Agrifood Summit 2023 website. It promises to be an exceptional event!
