The EIT Food's event on agrifood entrepreneurship which encompasses all of EIT Food South's entrepreneurship programmes has come for another edition on October 6.
On this occasion, 25 women entrepreneurs that have participated in women leadership programmes, including the EWA – Empowering Women in Agrifood, had have the opportunity to join a unique face to face masterclass on Pitching to investors.
This exclusive lesson was provided by Mathieu Carenzo, a seasoned entrepreneur and dynamic Business Angel with current investments in unicorns such as Glovo; Scale ups like Bizaway, Trioteca or Amphora Logistics and promising start-ups such as Daysk, LastSmile or Vasquiat.
During 2 hours our female founders learned about Pitching techniques, do´s and don´ts and more importantly had have a real pitching experience with live feedback from instructors and investors. Almudena Trigo from Beable Capital has been our key note speaker which introduced this masterclass with her valuable vision and experience on the investment and Venture Capital world.
The event also featured a panel discussion with EWA participants from previous years: Andrea Arias, CEO & Founder at A Santa Viña (Spain) Débora Campos, CEO & Founder at AgroGRIn Tech (Portugal) and Inés Carballo Tomé, CEO & Founder at Aitana Espirulina (Spain).
About EWA Programme
The EIT Food EWA - Empowering Women for Agrifood programme is a project that seeks to promote female entrepreneurship in the agrifood sector, with the aim of increasing the presence of women in positions of business responsibility and thus reduce the existing gender gap in the area.
It is a 6-month incubation programme, which offers continuous support to the selected entrepreneurs, specific training and personalised business mentoring for their business idea. The participants have also the opportunity to win prizes of up to 10,000 euros.
