AGES x FFoQSI Academy Seminar Series: Food-Authentication: innovative techniques, emerging challenges and good practice examples
Authenticity of food is rightly on everyone's lips. Consumers are very interested in exotic and diverse foods, and globalization makes it possible to source food from many parts of the world, and of excellent quality. At the same time, it has never been easier to make illicit profits on supposedly authentic food products, e.g. Manuka honey, glass eels, and sushi.
Are the food products therefore authentic? Is the Styrian apple perhaps from Poland? Or the Atlantic salmon from questionable aquaculture? How far have analytical methods developed to be able to demonstrate authenticity in the laboratory?
This hybrid event is a great opportunity to learn more about state of art analytical approaches relating to food authenticity both in Austria and internationally. Due to the importance of the topic for consumers, AGES & FFoQSI joined forces to set the path for improved traceability along the food chain. Our symposium works along the lines of the current FoodSafer project and thus attendance will be free of charge.
