Animal Feed Production: Feed Quality

Description

The course will focus on:

  • Product quality assurance and control systems;
  • Quality control and testing methods;
  • Quality management system;
  • Feed ingredient quality; and
  • Adulteration in feed quality

Who should join the course

The course is designed for animal feed mill managers looking to continue their professional development and training.

It is also useful for existing and new operators, their administrative and sales staff, food scientists, process engineers, and regulators on feed quality assurance practices.

Registration fee                                                                   

The course will be proposed at a discounted fee of 62 GBP / 70 EUR in 2019.

Timeline

The course will have multiple runs in 2019 and 2020.  

Learning objectives and outcomes

Once completed, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the multidiscipline nature of animal feed production;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills required for the production of quality animal feed relative for livestock production;
  • Identify the range and types of issues which can affect the quality of feed;
  • Reflect on product quality assurance and control systems to ensure animal feed quality; and
  • Identify the regulatory requirements related to the production of animal feed

Description

The course will focus on:

  • Feedstuff categories (forages, oilseeds and by-products);
  • Legislation;
  • Microbiological and chemical aspects;
  • Feed Processing; and
  • Feed Formulation Principles

Who should join the course

The course is designed for animal feed mill managers looking to continue their professional development and training.

It is also useful for existing and new operators, as well as other personnel (such as administrative and sales staff), food scientists, process engineers, regulators on feed safety practices.
