ISAAP: Innovative Strategies to Accelerate Adoption and Consumption of Plant-Based Food

ISAAP's mission is to support a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient food system by promoting plant-based foods and building strong national action plans in Portugal and Czechia.

2025
2027

ISAAP is a pioneering initiative co-funded by EIT Food, uniting organizations across Europe to drive the adoption of plant-based foods. Inspired by Denmark’s successful national action plan, ISAAP aims to build and implement similar strategies in Portugal and Czechia, while addressing key barriers through practical, country-level activities.

Through this project, we are:

  • Supporting farmers in Portugal to cultivate legumes and develop innovative legume-based products.

  • Expanding plant-based options in Czechia’s food service sector and engaging policymakers and industry leaders.

  • Building knowledge and resources for healthcare professionals in Denmark to promote plant-based nutrition for wellbeing.

  • Advocating for national policy recommendations in Czechia and Portugal to accelerate the shift towards sustainable diets.

Together, our consortium is working to build healthier diets, support sustainable agriculture, and strengthen Europe’s food security and resilience against future food system challenges.
