The Promotion Agency of Gran Canaria (SPEGC) aims to promote financial, business and R&D activities that contribute to local development and growth.

Profile

The Sociedad de PromociĂłn EconĂłmica de Gran Canaria (SPEGC) is a private law body belonging to the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, with the aim to promote financial, business and R&D activities that contribute to the development and expansion of Gran Canaria.

The added values consist in the connection for companies, researches and investors within the local innovative ecosystem specialized in Blue Economy, remarking the water technologies and aquaculture (blue biotechnology, algae production and fish farming).

To achieve this goal, SPEGC conducts support programmes for different strategic sectors key to the financial competitiveness of the island. Among those sectors, we consider the Blue Economy as an opportunity for job creation and local development by means of companies that carry out R&D activities thoroughly.
