1) What is your idea?

“Founded in 2019, Gourmey creates sustainable gourmet products directly from real animal cells by combining food innovation with culinary arts. Our flagship product is produced from cultivated duck cells and offers a new choice for foie gras aficionados. It has been co-developed with Michelin-starred chefs who are excited by its versatility but also its ability to access the culinary scene in regions where conventionally produced foie gras is not authorized.”

2) Where can we find your products?

“Cultivated foods need market authorizations to be commercialized. Gourmey is proud to have requested approval for market access in five initial global markets: Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Union. This achievement makes us the very first cultivated food company to file for approval in the EU. Complying with the rigorous standards of the world’s most advanced agencies on cultivated foods regulation, including the EU’s stringent novel food framework, is a testament to Gourmey’s technology leadership, our commitment to safety, and the immense dedication of our team.”

3) How has EIT Food helped you on your journey?

“The EIT Food network and resources have helped us acquire insights and industry connections. Being part of the program enabled us to bring cultivated foods one stop closer to go-to-market.”
