Plausible sustainable pathways for European Dairy Systems
2025
2027
Dairy+ will provide plausible pathways for European dairy producers to achieve net zero, improve biodiversity, soil health, and water quality through the development of a unique model based on high level of accurate and reliable data. It will evidence the impact of sustainable practices, such as regenerative farming. Pathways will be tailored to a range of different farmer typologies representative of the sector in Europe.
The project delivers plausible net-zero and wider sustainability pathways for dairy farmer typologies, to meet 2030 and 2050 targets. The outcomes are (1) models to drive economically viable sustainable farming practices at scale, (2) quantitative evaluation of new and existing technologies, (3) training materials for farmers and (4) cost-effective tools to measure carbon, biodiversity, soil health and water quality at scale across Europe.
