Call for Contractor/s to organise training sessions about conservative and regenerative agriculture in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Türkiye, France, Germany and Ireland
We have focused on the Mediterranean because farmers in this region have been disproportionately hurt by climate change and conventional agricultural practices and are suffering from impoverished soils, water scarcity, erosion, lack of biodiversity and lower yields. These environmental problems have been aggravated by the high cost of agriculture inputs, low food prices and increased debt, all of which have left farmers struggling for their financial survival.
To revert these trends and help bring about the Regenerative Agriculture Programme in Europe, we are focusing our efforts in three key areas:
- Supporting European farmers to transition to regenerative/conservative agriculture. EIT Food offers innovative farmers a comprehensive training and support program that helps them learn about and then apply the principles of regenerative agriculture on their farms.
- Monitoring ecosystem improvements. We are measuring a series of parameters on the farms in our program to better understand the impact of farming practices on soil health, biodiversity and farmer profitability.
- Helping the consumer to understand the health and environmental benefits of regenerative agriculture. Through pioneering research and powerful storytelling, we are raising awareness about the connection between regenerative agriculture, soil health and human health.
To carry out the farmer training activity we are looking for one or several contractors to organise our training sessions in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Türkiye, France, Germany and Ireland.
