The 10 selected agrifood entrepreneurs for the fourth edition of EWA Turkey are announced

Empowering Women in Agrifood Turkey, an EIT Food entrepreneurship programme, hosts 10 dedicated female entrepreneurs who have projects in the agrifood sector.

In Turkey, 10 female entrepreneurs selected among the applications will attend online and offline training and events for 6 months and receive both one-on-one and expert mentorship support. The winner in the country final will receive a prize of â‚¬10,000, and the runner-up will receive a prize of â‚¬5,000.

Since its first year, the program has been carried out in Turkey with the partnership of Impact Hub Istanbul's food and agriculture entrepreneurship platform Foodback and Topraktan.co.

The 10 selected entrepreneurs for EWA programme in Turkey are:

  • Canan Tiryaki - Aquafaba | Aquafaba develops innovative products based on the use of chickpea product as raw material or finished product.
  • Duygu Yilmaz Koksal - Saledo | Saledo produces innovative foods, especially green bananas, with the philosophy of upcycling, inspired by healthy, delicious and natural.
  • Ebrar Yıldırım - Gojenie | Gojenie produces confectionery alternatives such as lollipops and jelly beans, which consist of useful ingredients without the use of glucose syrup, refined sugar and sweeteners.
  • EylĂĽl Er - Palgae | Palgae produces algae-based bioplastic raw materials with carbon capture technology and brings industrial waste into the circular economy.
  • Fatma Hafsa TuÄźrul - Enatue | Enature produces 100% natural recyclable milk fabric from waste milk.
  • Merve Bozdemir - Cyberlabor | It provides a digital network platform service that will provide specialization by encouraging the employment of local workforce in the agricultural sector.
  • Nazife Nur Yazgan - NFS Global | NFS Global produces fermented yoghurt and fermented probiotic beverages from domestic plant sources.
  • Pelin Kaya - WINDUSTRY | It offers solutions that prevent unconscious agricultural practices with mobile application and drone support.
  • Sine Ă–zmen ToÄźay - NutrASYA | It develops natural, reliable, healthy and standard products with zero waste principle and produces food supplements from artichoke wastes
  • Sultan GĂĽl - Microhobist | It is a plant growth regulator developed from the products produced by microorganisms beneficial to the plant or postbiotic plant growth regulator produced from the microorganisms beneficial to the plant.
