Policy paper: Agriculture, climate, environment. Challenges and activities for the future

On February 24, EIT Food CLC North-East together with the Institute of Public Affairs and European Climate Foundation organised a webinar about challenges and opportunities for Polish agriculture in the light of CAP: „Future of agriculture and climate protection. How to use opportunities provided by European Green Deal?”. After the event, the organisations have collaborated on preparing a policy paper: "Agriculture, climate, environment. Challenges and activities for the future" (in Polish), which can be now downloaded.

About the policy paper

Agriculture affects the climate and the environment in different ways. One of them is the emission of greenhouse gases. It is estimated that in the European Union agriculture is responsible for a total of over 10% of greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, it is one of the sectors of the economy that is already strongly affected by the negative consequences of climate change. We are at a crucial moment in designing the public policies and actions on which the achievement of the objectives of the European Green Deal in three decades is dependent.

How does the new common agricultural policy responses to environmental and climate challenges? What solutions can support the transformation of agriculture towards low-emission and climate-friendly and environmentally friendly?
