What a sunny weekend of April we enjoyed in Zarautz!

This weekend the VI edition of Zarautz4teens organised by Aritz Aranburu has not gone unnoticed. It took place in Zarautz beach and this year EIT Food joined the event with great activities where children could enjoy and learn about the agrifood sector and healthy living.

Zarautz4teens is a programme with the objective of transmitting values of surfing and competition among the youngest people. It was a great opportunity for EIT Food to join forces and share food-related knowledge to local children.

More than fifty children joined EIT Food´s Youth Mission activities during the event. The aim of these activities was to provide clear information about the agrifood sector, climate change and healthy lifestyle in a fun and easy way to understand.

  • The day started with "The agrifood Game", where the children were very active answering questions about the agrifood sector and how to overcome the main challenges via a ghymkhana.
  • Then, in the "Surf in clean water" activity, children were really interested in seeing how to take care of the oceans so that in the future surfing can continue to be practised in a pollution-free environment.
  • And lastly, they did their best spinning the roulette and answering questions about food categories.

It has been very fruitful weekend where children had the opportunity to play and learn. We leave here some memories of that day. If you were there, we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did, see you next time!
