Salvacomidas, is EIT Foods project that believes in educating future generations on eating well and fighting food waste is back stronger than ever! This second edition will focus on children from 1st to 6th grade in Primary school, and will work alongside teachers from all over Spain to empower students to take action and make an impact on the way they consume food in order to make sure that a better future for the industry is possible.

Why Los Salvacomidas

More and more children around the world are suffering from the problems of poor nutrition such as obesity and malnutrition, problems that tend to get worse when they grow up. As a result they can develop physical deficiencies and illnesses.

Last year's edition had more than 1,500 young participants from five autonomous communities in Spain: Andalusia, Galicia, Castilla y León, Madrid and the Basque Country. More than 50 schools embraced the learning process in terms of healthy habits, sustainable eating and entrepreneurial spirit that the programme offers, working competences through a classroom project that is aligned with the current LOMLOE regulation.

The objective is fo children work on skills in a healthy, transversal, original and fun way!
