Join the annual International AgriFood Forum 2023 in Lithuania
On November 14, in Vilnius, Lithuania, the annual International AgriFood Forum 2023 will take place. The largest forum on agrifood sector topics in the Baltic States is organized by AgriFood Lithuania DIH and the European Parliament in collaboration with the Business at OECD” and the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. Last year, the forum attracted more than 2,500 unique viewers.
“Food for Peace: Sustainability, Security for Society and Planet” is this year’s Forum’s main theme.
In light of the present global food and agriculture crises, the Forum will focus on maintaining food security and sustainability. Global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as higher energy and fertiliser prices, are disrupting supply chains and putting pressure on markets. Cooperation between the public, business, and non-governmental sectors is consequently critical. Inter-sectoral and inter-institutional cooperation would enable long-term and sustainable solutions for the agrifood sector's stability and development.
What positive outcomes will the upcoming AgriFood Forum bring?
Collaborative Problem-Solving
It will serve as a platform for diverse stakeholders from the agrifood industry and related fields to engage in discussions around the intricate challenges facing the sector. To address them, participants will collaboratively work towards identifying strategic solutions and long-term commitments.
Policy Recommendations
The forum will enable experts to produce a comprehensive policy document containing recommendations directed towards key policy-making institutions like “Business at OECD” and the European Commission. This resource will provide actionable insights that can facilitate informed decision-making.
Public Awareness and Dialogue
The forum endeavors to raise public awareness and facilitate dialogue on the significance of sustainable and secure food systems in our society. It is our hope that this event will foster collective responsibility towards ensuring the future-proofing of our food systems.
