EIT Food ranks among Poland's top Horizon Europe beneficiaries
EIT Food has ranked eighth among Polish organisations in terms of Horizon Europe funding, securing €23.3 million for nine projects under the European Union's flagship research and innovation programme.
The latest figures, published by Poland's National Contact Point for Horizon Europe (KPK), place EIT Food among the country's leading beneficiaries of the programme. Overall, Polish organisations have secured more than €1 billion through Horizon Europe, participating in 1,880 projects involving 809 organisations.
The ranking reflects EIT Food's commitment to driving innovation through European collaboration. Across its Horizon Europe portfolio, EIT Food works with partners from research, industry, startups and the public sector to develop solutions that strengthen the agrifood sector and support the transition towards healthier, more sustainable and resilient food systems. This success has also been made possible thanks to EIT Food's strong regional presence, including its office in Warsaw, which enables close collaboration with Polish partners and stakeholders.
Current projects span key areas including resilient agriculture, protein diversification and agrifood biotechnology, bringing together expertise from across Europe to address shared challenges and accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions. By connecting complementary partners and disciplines, Horizon Europe creates opportunities to transform research into practical impact for farmers, businesses and consumers.
The latest results also highlight Poland's growing success in Horizon Europe. Compared with the previous Horizon 2020 programme, Polish organisations have increased both the total funding secured and their share of the programme, demonstrating the country's expanding role in Europe's research and innovation ecosystem.
With new Horizon Europe calls continuing to open across the programme, collaboration remains at the heart of successful proposals.
