Promoted by EIT Food with the support in Italy of the Future Food Institute and UNARGA.

The Award aims to recognise the work of journalists who generate awareness on innovation and sustainability in the food system and encourage their work. Promoting a journalism award in the field of sustainability, food and agriculture is crucial to highlight the importance of these topics in our society, so that we can raise awareness of the impact of our food choices on the environment and promote sustainable practices.

The objectives of the Award include: increasing consumer confidence, creating healthier food options, building a consumer-connected food ecosystem, improving food sustainability and educating people about innovation, especially food innovation.

The EIT Food Journalism Award is open to all professionals in the Italian media ecosystem (press, radio, television, digital), regularly registered with the Ordine Dei Giornalisti either as professional or as publicist, who have published, broadcast, or transmitted between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 journalistic works focusing on one or more of the following topics: Healthy and affordable food; Sustainability and innovation in agribusiness; Food education; Consumer-oriented nutrition; Agribusiness entrepreneurship; Inter-firm collaboration in agribusiness; Economic importance of the agribusiness sector; Digitisation in agribusiness; The agribusiness sector in the current, complex historical period.
