EIT Food HUB Slovenia, National meeting point for innovation and entrepreneurship in agri-food, is organising Deep Dive 2023 for the third time. This year we are focusing on the sustainable gastronomy in Posavje region.

The EIT Food Field Study Forum is a two-day professional interactive event with active participation of students, agri-food companies, state administration, interest associations, media and other relevant stakeholders, aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Slovenian agriculture and food processing industry.

Deep Dive 2023 will be held under the main theme Sustainable Gastronomy in Posavje Region, with the focus on the following topics: vegetables in gastronomy, local food chains, Green Tourism - Green Schemes in Tourism. The purpose of the event is to connect the key actors of Posavje agri-food industry, to activate young people and to encourage a public debate on the possibilities of developing the agricultural and food sector in Posavje region.

The event will take place in cooperation with local companies, the local community of the Municipality of Krško and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Tourism Krško with its Entrepreneurship incubator Krško

How can you participate?

To participate in the event, prior registration is required.

You can participate in "DEEP DIVE POSAVJE 2023" as an active participant in the two-day field study forum or as a participant - listener of individual sections.

27 and 28 September 2023 | Two-day field study forum

The field study forum is intended for students. The field forum begins on September 27 with a tour of three partner food companies and the Municipality (Municipality of Krško, Evrosad, Grad Rajhenburg – Peninoteka and Kunst hotel&restaurant) with the aim of getting to know the current issues and challenges that individual companies face. After the tour, work in groups will follow, where students with different prior knowledge will look for potential solutions and improvements. The students will present the results of the group work on September 28 at the Public discussion Forum "Sustainability, food system and tourism in Posavje".

Individual sets of events:
The individual events are intended for everyone who is interested in the topic of innovative start-up companies and agri-food in the Posavje region.

27.09.2023 | "Meet Posavje region agri-food startups"

Location: Klet Krško

The following will be presented: Narayan, Klet Krško, Čokoladnica Kunej, Reset pivovarna, with the guest speaker as an event opening: Mr. Stane Rožman, PhD, former CEO of NEK (Krško nuclear power plant), now in retirement.

28.09.2023 | EIT Food Hub Slovenia public discussion forum entitled "Sustainability, food system and tourism in Posavje"

The public forum is the final event of the study forum, which is divided into two parts.
In the first part, the students will present their reflections on the set challenges, and in the second part, a round table with interesting guests will take place.

FIRST DAY / 27.9.2023 (world tourism day)

  • 6.30 Organised transport from Ljubljana
  • 8.00-13.00 Study visits of individual companies
    (Presentation of hosts - basic data, operation, challenges, development visions; reflection on the assigned topic - case study).
    This is where the group of students will get the insights into the individual company. They will be a part of company presentations and they will have the opportunity to get to know their activities, challenges and vision. Students will be given the chance to learn about the company's operations and meet the management, technologists, developers.

  • 14.30-20.00 Student regional hackathon: “EIT Food Deep Dive Posavje 2023: Sustainability, food system and tourism
    Students’ group work, within which the groups will develop their views, reflections and insights into the challenges: analysis of case studies, creation of reflections, proposals, preparation of presentations for day 2.
  • 20.30-21.30 EIT Food Hub Slovenia: meet the start-ups of the Posavje region*
    Presentation of personal entrepreneurial stories of entrepreneurs from selected start-ups in Posavje region.
