Each year the world produces over 100 million metric tons of polyethylene plastics and less than 8% of this amount is recycled.

Beworm works on a novel recycling technology for low density polyethylene, which is broadly used in food packaging. With the help of microorganisms and enzymes, the material gets degraded into oligomers.These are then reused as a raw material to produce new plastics for reuse in the food industry and other commercial sectors.
