Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is a leading Portuguese university recognized for its interdisciplinary approach and strong commitment to societal impact, innovation, and international collaboration. UCP operates through multiple research and teaching units, including the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry, CBQF|School of Biotechnology (Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, ESB) & the Research Centre in Management and Economics, CEGE|Católica Porto Business School, CPBS). UCP, through CBQF|ESB and CEGE|CPBS, plays a leading role in research, innovation, and education within the agri-food sector, always driven by collaboration with industry. CBQF|ESB is recognized as one of the most prominent Portuguese R&D units in this field and is actively engaged internationally in developing sustainable and innovative food systems.
