Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznan Institute of Technology

Profile

Łukasiewicz Research Network - Poznan Institute of Technology (Ł-PIT) was founded in January 2022 as a result of the merger of five research institutes in Poznan that operated for over 70 years. This merger increased the research and commercialization potential and allowed more effective competition especially in the international R&D projects. Łukasiewicz – PIT has now new interdisciplinary research directions that facilitate, among others, in acquiring international grants and foreign business partners for projects with a high degree of innovation.

Łukasiewicz-PIT has a strong expertise on dealing with the challenges of the agri- food industry for over 75 years. We have experience and specialized laboratories that can be used for food testing. During this time the Institute created the history of agricultural mechanisation. We have knowledge of the trends and changes that have taken place in the agri-food industry. For the past 10 years, we have been working dynamically with companies involved in mechanisation, processing and technology in the food industry. By working with the industry, we identify its needs. We are very active in the agri-food sector. We have implemented several hundred innovative projects, including dozens in the food sector alone.

Agricultural and Food Technology Center that operates in the Institute has a strong team of analysts, specialists in the field of agro, food, forestry, energy storage, transfer and technology evaluation. As a European DIH (funded by EC) and Polish Satellite in Agri-food TEF (funded by DEP) we are leaders in the European flagship programmes and we create EU-wide innovation.
