Consumer Trends Report

The EIT Food Consumer Observatory’s Consumer Trends Report highlights key trends shaping our society, helping stakeholders keep their finger on the pulse of food systems change.

29 May 2025

Understanding consumer behaviour is key to making our food systems more sustainable and equitable. This Consumer Trends Report explores the consumer-centric trends shaping our society and by extension the food ecosystem.

Providing an overview of the current complex consumer landscape, it shines a spotlight on mega, macro and micro trends, from accelerated technological change, to decentralised consumer trust in food and the rising demand for personalised nutrition.

The report’s detailed trends analysis supports stakeholders to anticipate market needs, remaining agile, competitive and relevant within an ever-changing environment.

If you would like to know more about the consumer trends highlighted within this work, how they may affect your business and what challenges and opportunities they present, please get in touch via co@eitfood.eu.
