While foods rely on packaging for protection from pathogens, safe transportation, and longevity, packaging waste has a detrimental impact on the environment. The production of new packaging materials, as well as the disposal of used packaging, take an increasingly large toll on our planet.
How do consumers feel about this notion?
The aim of this study was to provide manufacturers and policy makers with concrete tips on how to reduce food packaging waste in a way that aligns with consumers’ wishes, abilities, and expectations.
