ResiTrac - Resilient Food Production with Green Tractors

Reducing CO₂ Emissions in Agriculture with Pure Plant Oil-Powered Tractors

2023
2025

The ResiTrac project aims to revolutionize agricultural machinery by developing and introducing tractors powered by pure plant oil (PPO) instead of fossil diesel. By enabling farmers to use rapeseed oil as a sustainable fuel alternative, the project reduces CO₂ emissions, enhances energy independence, and promotes a circular economy within the agricultural sector.

By offering flexible multifuel solutions and demonstrating their viability, the project paves the way for global commercialization, driving sustainable innovation in modern farming.

The initiative includes engine lab tests, real-world emissions measurements, and field demonstrations across multiple countries to ensure performance, compliance with emission standards, and practicality. Additional benefits include lower reliance on fossil fuels, decentralized fuel production, and high-protein livestock feed as a valuable byproduct.
