Regenerative Innovation Portfolio

Join us in building a sustainable future for farming in Europe through Regenerative Agriculture. Are you ready to join a movement that will shape the future of regenerative sourcing?

2024

We believe that the solution to transition agricultural practices by farmers lies in cross value chain collaboration, where all partners work together in facilitating the farmer, put in the central, to transition towards regenerative practices at scale.

If you share with us the goal of scaling regenerative agriculture sourcing in Europe, we invite you to join the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio and contribute to the system transformation of the agricultural system.

MRV System for Polish Regenerative Agriculture Landscape

We are seeking a qualified consortium to develop and deliver the four essential components required to operationalise the Polish Regenerative Agriculture Landscape. These core activities are:

  • Farm Data Management Platform – A robust and scalable system for collecting, storing, and managing farm-level data relevant to regenerative practices and carbon performance.
  • Carbon and Other Co-Benefits Accounting Methodology – A scientifically sound, transparent, and verifiable approach to calculate GHG emissions reductions and carbon sequestration associated with practice changes as well as an approach to measure other Project benefits, incl. soil health, biodiversity, and farmer wellbeing.
  • Soil Carbon Quantification Model – A modelling framework capable of estimating changes in soil carbon stocks across diverse agricultural landscapes under varying management regimes.
  • Technical Support – An organisation providing dedicated support to align the various elements of the MRV system to ensure effective delivery and coherence according to the project’s needs.

The call is open until 3rd September.

Verification of MRV Methodology in Polish Regenerative Agriculture Landscape

This Call for Proposals seeks an independent third-party to audit, verify and certify a methodology being developed by another party. The objective of the validation process is to ensure full alignment with internationally recognised standards, including but not limited to the GHG Protocol LSRG and the Carbon Removals Certification Framework (CRCF).

The key activity for the entity or consortium recruited in this call is to audit, verify and certify the methodology found in these Call Guidelines. This includes:

  • Liaising with the methodology developer on requirements for successful audit, verification and certification.
  • Reviewing the first draft of the methodology and providing Corrective Action Requests (CARs) in a validation report.
  • Auditing, verifying and certifying the final methodology developed by the MRV consortium
  • Auditing the methodology and project actions on an annual basis.

The call is open until 15th September.

What is the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio?

The Regenerative Innovation Portfolio is a collaboration platform bringing together a wide array of actors within Europe to action the critical systemic shifts we need to fix our broken food system. The Regenerative Innovation Portfolio is an ecosystem collaboration, established as a Food Innovation Hub Europe Initiative of the World Economic Forum, and delivered by EIT Food and Foodvalley NL.

It seeks to unlock new partnerships across the food and agriculture value chain, bringing practical solutions that will enable viable short and long-term business models for farmers who want to transition towards regenerative agriculture.

Our mission is to remove system level barriers to adoption of regenerative agriculture by farmers and do so by demonstrating pathways to transform at scale, boosting the supply and value of regeneratively produced products and delivered ecosystem services while de-risking the farmers in the transition.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for co-financing partners who share our vision and that are willing to contribute to the Portfolio to help scale partnerships across the entire agricultural ecosystem in which stakeholders co-create solutions and share knowledge:

  • Food and agricultural companies
  • Investors
  • Impact funds
  • Other organisations focused on European regenerative sourcing at scale

Navarra 360º is a pioneering project that seeks to promote Regenerative Agriculture in Navarra (Spain), validating agricultural practices, at a territorial level, as a European benchmark in the transition towards a new agriculture. It will dedicate 2.5 million euros over three years (2024-2027) to support 80 farmers in their crop rotation systems, focusing on wheat, barley, oats, rapeseed and sunflower. Check all the information here.

Why should you join us?

As a co-financing partner, you will have the opportunity to bring your resources and expertise to create cross-value chain collaborations and initiatives that will demonstrate solutions and positively impact the Portfolio’s mission.

In return, the Portfolio offers a range of benefits for Core Partners:

  • Create scalable new sourcing models
  • Share costs and knowledge and multiply investments
  • Learn from other innovation initiatives
  • Shape the future of the regenerative food system in collaboration with other key players

Regenerative Agriculture Landscapes: Request for Expression of Interest

This is an invitation to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to become part of our next generation of landscape collaborations. We are looking for:

1. Single Crop Demonstrators (start in 2025): Targeted initiatives focused on transitioning or scaling regenerative practices within specific crop value chains—such as olives, grapes, or hazelnuts among others. Ideal for supply chain actors already active or taking first steps in regenerative agriculture.

2. New Landscapes (start in 2026): Ambitious, multi-stakeholder proposals that introduce new regenerative systems at landscape level. These can focus on crops, livestock, or mixed farming models, and aim to deliver broad environmental and socio-economic impact.

Selected EOIs will co-design and implement impactful projects with support from the Portfolio. The Portfolio will support, facilitate and coordinate the efforts of consortia to design and implement landscape projects ensuring alignment, delivery, impact and scalability

6th June 2025 We will held a webinar to provide more information on the EOI, you can view the recording below.

This Request for Expression of Interest is open from 2nd June to 15th July.
