Packaging Data Hub
The Packaging Data Hub provides credible, harmonised packaging data that’s grounded in local realities and verified by experts – enabling businesses, governments and civil society to confidently make evidence-based decisions that accelerate circularity.
The Packaging Data Hub is a project to develop a new global data platform that provides the first harmonised, expert-validated, authoritative source for packaging data.
It aims to bring together verified information on packaging materials, formats and end-of-life outcomes across more than 75 countries, creating one trusted data foundation for the benefit of brands, government, and civil society. This will combine an open-access data tool for the public with a deep, granular insights platform for industry.
The project is co-led by Systemiq and Earth Action and developed with guidance from leading NGOs, businesses, and technical experts. With this eco-system of partners, the project will create one harmonised dataset for globally consistent data that bridge across different standards and definitions.
The Packaging Data Hub will build on years of systems modelling and data experience by collating the highest quality datasources country-by-country. With local expertise and data partners feeding in, we will create global coverage for key metrics such as material recyclability, collection rates and infrastructure performance.
