The Masterclass event officially launched the second half of the EWA programme in Bulgaria

Regional Agency For Entrepreneurship And Innovations – RAPIV organized a Masterclass event for 10 women entrepreneurs, participating in Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme. The event took place in Varna, Bulgaria on the 29th and 30th of September 2022.

The event started with our special guest Aleksandra Bara, RIS Project Manager, EIT Food CLC North-East, who presented EIT Food partners, initiatives and the available opportunities for start-ups in agrifood within Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) strategy.

Two very important agrifood topics were chosen for the trainings during the first day of the Masterclass: EWA participants learned about main legislative requirements on “Food safety” with Assoc. Prof. Antoaneta Stoyanova and discovered more about “Agrifood Supply Chains” with Assoc. Prof. Gergana Slavova from the University of Economics – Varna.

Throughout the event all 10 Mentees had a lot of opportunities for networking and received expert advice from representatives of the start-up ecosystem – Todorka Dimitrova, Varna Economic Development Agency and Dilyan Popov – Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Centre.

The second day was all about improving communication and presentation skills.

In the morning Hristomir Hristov shared the main elements of a successful pitch. After that, each participant was given the opportunity to present their business idea and its development during EWA programme. Each of the Mentees received valuable feedback on how to improve and show their best at the Pitching event.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the Pitching competition at the end of November when the winners will be selected and the best ideas will be awarded with €10,000 and €5,000!
