Rebuilding through food - AMPLE Lutsk backs veterans and displaced people to rebuild
The AMPLE Lutsk project, led by Lutsk National Technical University, supported war veterans and internally displaced persons in the Lutsk community who were ready to rebuild their lives. Many faced financial hardship and the challenge of adapting to rapid social and economic changes brought about by the war. The project equipped them with the skills to establish sustainable craft food businesses using eco-friendly, low-waste methods: fostering independence and a path to new income.
Developing skills for craft food entrepreneurship
Participants received hands-on trainings in craft food production, sustainable business practices and entrepreneurship. They learned essentials in business management, marketing and planning, with a strong emphasis on building innovative and environmentally responsible ventures. Culinary sessions at Cookery School by Vlad Finkevych focused on the techniques and skills needed to create high-quality, handmade food products.
The most valuable aspect of the AMPLE Lutsk project is the participants’ results - their inspiration and drive to develop their own businesses. Lutsk National Technical University always supports initiatives that promote local business growth, sustainability and innovation. I wish each participant to keep moving forward confidently and never stop pursuing their goals.
Long-term impact and community growth
The project created a solid foundation for sustainable growth and scalability beyond its initial funding period. By providing essential knowledge and resources, it is fostering a network of sustainable businesses that can contribute to the local economy. As participants launch their ventures, they are expected to inspire and mentor others, creating a ripple effect that strengthens the community and encourages ongoing innovation in the local food system. Educational materials developed during the project will continue to be used at Lutsk National Technical University to train individuals from vulnerable communities, extending impact beyond the original timeline.
Supporting displaced communities and veterans
AMPLE Lutsk played a vital role in supporting displaced individuals and veterans as they adapt to new lives. Those forced to leave their homes often face significant economic and social challenges, making this support especially important. The project helps participants achieve economic empowerment, build resilience and independence, and foster a sense of community in their new environments through initiatives in the food business.
The AMPLE Lutsk project is an important social initiative for our community, supporting people affected by the war as they rebuild their lives in a new place. I am proud of the participants who continue moving forward despite all challenges. Their determination serves as an inspiring example for everyone to keep striving and never give up.
Celebrating creativity and entrepreneurship
On 25 October 2025, Lutsk National Technical University hosted the Business Idea Presentations for AMPLE Lutsk, bringing together participants, trainers and project partners. Participants shared their business ideas, while craft food entrepreneurs offered advice and insights from their experience. The gathering celebrated the programme’s social mission in a warm, energetic atmosphere.
Attendees received certificates of completion and recipe guides for products prepared during training at the project partner, Cookery School by Vlad Finkevych. A photo-filled presentation of the project’s activities added a joyful touch and left everyone with positive memories.
AMPLE Lutsk shows how practical skills, supportive networks and a clear purpose can help people rebuild. By pairing hands-on food entrepreneurship with sustainable practices, the programme has opened pathways to independence for veterans and displaced people—creating momentum that will continue in classrooms, kitchens and small businesses across the community.
