On October 3rd, the Empowering Women in Agrifood Masterclass programme was executed in Slovenia, during which selected participants gained better knowledge in the agrifood sector. The event was organized by the Centre of Business Excellence (CBE) at the School of Economics and Business, and Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, which is also responsible for the local implementation of the EWA programme.

Throughout the day, we delved into various topics, including content creation, marketing strategies, food labelling, and expanding to foreign markets. Urša Žorž Požrl shared invaluable tips on standing out with out-of-the-box content, allowing EWA participants to learn how to captivate their audience and leave a lasting impression in the competitive digital landscape of that time.

Mag. Simon MegliÄŤ ePrvak guided the EWA mentees in preparing effective SEO and e-mail marketing strategies. Participants discovered the secrets to driving organic traffic and building meaningful relationships with their customers through email campaigns. During the lunch break, attendees had the chance to network and connect with industry peers, fostering collaborations and exchanging ideas.

After lunch, Tamara Srdarev Smole, from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, unravelled the art of food labelling. Participants learned how to effectively communicate the benefits of their products, especially functional food, and gain a competitive edge in the market.

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion led by Rok StariÄŤ, Tina Kravina and BlaĹľ Zupan, where we dove into the world of food branding, attracting investors, and successfully expanding to foreign markets. The EWA participants gained valuable insights from experienced professionals and received answers to their questions. The event concluded with an extended networking session, providing attendees with ample opportunities to build meaningful connections, seek advice, and collaborate with fellow industry enthusiasts.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the Pitching competition on the 16th of November when the winners will be selected and the best ideas will be awarded €10,000 and €5,000!
