Fast Track to Market initiative to fund solutions which accelerate the commercialisation of agrifood products and services in Europe
- Funding call aims to help mature start-ups and SMEs bring new products or services to market quicker
- EIT Food supports forward-thinking companies to grow at critical points of their journey
- Submissions are now open to all eligible Horizon Europe start-ups and SMEs
EIT Food, the world’s largest food innovation community, has announced its Fast Track to Market initiative, which provides up to €60k – €400k in funding to mature agrifood startups and SMEs to accelerate their commercial success and enter new, or expand in existing markets, faster. EIT Food is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
The Fast Track to Market initiative will fund 6–10 month projects that can significantly accelerate a startup or SME’s commercial success, with the goal of creating immediate impact by bringing their products or services to market.
The proposed innovative solutions are expected to result in commercially viable products and services reaching the market, and work towards achieving the following goals:
- Healthier lives through food
- A net zero food system
- A fully transparent, fair and resilient food system.
The Fast Track to Market initiative is open to all eligible Horizon European companies with an existing business case that have a high potential to generate B2B/B2C sales for new or improved food innovation products or services.
“Through the Fast Track to Market initiative, EIT Food will support fast-moving and commercially bold companies that have the potential to generate immediate impact in the way we address agrifood challenges. Whether through market launch of new products, expansion of existing technologies, or development of new complementary services and solutions, we want to hear from start-ups and SMEs with ambitious commercialisation projects that will help us build an innovative and resilient food system that will in turn create a healthier society and planet.”
The Fast Track to Market follows six years of innovation funding calls from EIT Food that have resulted in a wealth of impactful initiatives and projects which are making a real difference to the agrifood industry.
EIT Food will accept proposals until the deadline of 10 April 2024. Full details of the eligibility criteria and submission process can be found here.
