EWA Ukraine 2025: Women-Led Startups Transforming Agrifood Innovation
Ukrainian innovators impressed at the EWA Demo Day with future-focused ideas — from rapid mastitis diagnostics for cows to carbon-free waste processing technologies and sustainable walnut-shell pellets.
On November 13, Kyiv welcomed the Demo Day of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme, organized by Radar Tech in partnership with EIT Food. The event highlighted the achievements of ten women entrepreneurs who, over a six-month intensive programme, developed innovative solutions in the agrifood sector.
The Ukrainian edition of the programme featured 10 mentors, 12 workshops, and 19 expert speakers, providing a total of 200 hours of personalized mentoring support for the participants. Beyond mentoring, the programme offered practical experiences, including excursions to UNIT.City, the Production and Culinary Centers of MHP, and the “Silpo” supermarket, as well as a Communication English course facilitated by EIT Food.
Top Prize Winners
The first prize of €10,000 was awarded to Anastasiia Bilan for M-Kit, a rapid test for detecting mastitis and identifying its causes directly on farms. Anastasiia will also present her solution in Warsaw at the Next Bite Satellite event on December 4.
Viktoriia Norenko received €5,000 for her circular economy project ReBio Service, which collects, recycles, and converts organic waste into valuable products for soil.
The Audience Choice Award, consisting of a mentorship session with Olha Trofimtseva, former Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Head of Agrifood at Ukraine Facility Platform, went to Anastasiia Myroshnychenko for her vertical farm producing sustainable, high-protein cricket flour.
The winners were selected by a panel of distinguished experts:

“The most valuable part for me was meeting amazing people — mentors, participants, and organizers. After joining the EWA programme, my solution became more than just ‘another product to show and sell.’ It is something I now put a lot of time and effort into, because I truly believe it is meaningful.”
