On November 13, Kyiv welcomed the Demo Day of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme, organized by Radar Tech in partnership with EIT Food. The event highlighted the achievements of ten women entrepreneurs who, over a six-month intensive programme, developed innovative solutions in the agrifood sector.

The Ukrainian edition of the programme featured 10 mentors, 12 workshops, and 19 expert speakers, providing a total of 200 hours of personalized mentoring support for the participants. Beyond mentoring, the programme offered practical experiences, including excursions to UNIT.City, the Production and Culinary Centers of MHP, and the “Silpo” supermarket, as well as a Communication English course facilitated by EIT Food.

Top Prize Winners

The first prize of €10,000 was awarded to Anastasiia Bilan for M-Kit, a rapid test for detecting mastitis and identifying its causes directly on farms. Anastasiia will also present her solution in Warsaw at the Next Bite Satellite event on December 4.

Viktoriia Norenko received €5,000 for her circular economy project ReBio Service, which collects, recycles, and converts organic waste into valuable products for soil.

The Audience Choice Award, consisting of a mentorship session with Olha Trofimtseva, former Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Head of Agrifood at Ukraine Facility Platform, went to Anastasiia Myroshnychenko for her vertical farm producing sustainable, high-protein cricket flour.

The winners were selected by a panel of distinguished experts:

Oleksandr Rudenko – Head of Investment Partnership Development, MHP
Alina Tokmylenko – Co-leader of NGO Ukraine Food Nation, Co-founder of 23Restaurants
Dmytriy Sofyna – Co-founder, AI R&D Center Winstars.AI
Alina Sevastsiuk – Marketing and Communications Manager, VisionFund Ukraine Olena Tokar – Founder of LOL&POP natural sweets, business mentor, international business expert, and motivational speaker

“The most valuable part for me was meeting amazing people — mentors, participants, and organizers.  After joining the EWA programme, my solution became more than just ‘another product to show and sell.’ It is something I now put a lot of time and effort into, because I truly believe it is meaningful.”

- Anastasiia Bilan said, reflecting on her results.

Participating Innovators

The solutions presented by the other participants left both the audience and the jury impressed. They received many questions and comments and demonstrated significant progress throughout their participation in the EWA programme.

  • Yulia Negrienko presented her solution “ФерменТАТО”: Sustainable nutrition products enriched with vitamins and fermented ingredients.
  • Olga Kadikova pitched with her product “Pelleta38”: an alternative biofuel made from walnut shell waste.
  • Oksana Zolotarova made a pivot midway through the program, transforming AI soil analysis into a new project “AgroGuide” – AI-driven solutions for efficient, data-based farm management.
  • Liliia Zaderiy presented her project ДрукарНЯ: 3D-printed eco-tools and materials for small-scale sustainable farming.
  • Valentina Turchyn presented “BarvaFood” — natural vegetable powders serving as eco-friendly flavoring and coloring agents.

Keynote Speech

The event also featured an inspiring presentation by Tetiana Kulahina, winner of EWA Ukraine 2024. Her speech focused on the growth and achievements her company reached over the past year after participating in the program. Tetiana shared how EWA became a powerful boost for her business and personal development, providing new knowledge, confidence, and connections that helped scale her MIR project
